Previously, the event was supposed to take place on September 10-13, but for a number of reasons caused by restrictions in connection with the Covid-19 the organizers are forced to change the dates. The additional week that has appeared at the same time will allow the participating teams to better prepare for the competition.
«Formula Student Russia» will take place, as previously planned, on the territory of the RDRC Racepark technical sports complex (Moscow region, Bykovo settlement).
Twelve teams from different Russian cities will take part in the competition. Foreign participants who have previously applied will not be able to join due to European border crossing restrictions.
However, Russian students should not relax as their works will be evaluated online by international level judges who also work at the Formula Student championships in other countries.
Russian teams will compete in the CV class cars with an internal combustion engine. They will have to present their projects to an expert jury, substantiating their economic and technical efficiency and then test their car on the track.
«Formula Student Russia» will be held without spectators this year, the online broadcast of the competition will go on the SMP Racing YouTube channel. Viewers will be able to see all stages of the competition: project defence and car dynamic testing.
«Formula Student Russia» competition is held with the participation of the Moscow Polytech which is known for its successes in the construction of motorsport equipment. His student team took part in many competitions where they won or became a medalist. The university designed, assembled and then successfully launched the Phoenix sport prototype, Formula, and the MIG V electric motorcycle, which took part in the record-breaking 2019 Baikal Mile races. Some of the developments of the Moscow Polytech will be presented at its stand as part of the Formula Student Russia exposition.
In anticipation of the «Formula Student Russia» competition students will have the opportunity to meet potential employers to learn more about the requirements for applicants. On September 14, the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of Moscow, SMP Racing and the Moscow Polytech will hold a round table: “Moscow Innovation Cluster. Interaction between business and education in motorsport”. Among the invited participating companies: Motul, Bosch, DMG Mori, Gates, S-motorsport and others.
