5 out of 17 Formula Student teams will represent electric cars at this year's competition.
Vladimir Vlasov, Сaptain of Togliatti Racing Team (Togliatti State University): “We decided to bet big on the class of electric vehicles and for the first time came to the competition with an electromobile. This year we would like our project to be considered and to understand how to pass a technical inspection with this car in future. Unfortunately, our racing car is not yet ready to go, but we have already received good feedback. We’ve already passed a scrutineering, we were shown the cons, and we now know how to build it. This car will definitely go next year! We believe that electric cars will soon take over the world."
Perhaps, in a few years, today's Russian students will build electro mobiles all over the world, thanks to the invaluable experience gained at the Formula Student competition.
